At the core of Sam Moon Group is the exciting retail store Sam Moon Trading Company. Sam Moon Trading Co. was founded in 1984 by David and In Sun Moon as a regional wholesaler of general merchandise. Over the years, it quickly transformed into Dallas' destination for wholesale women's accessories and handbags.

The company boomed when the first Sam Moon store opened its doors to the public in 1994 while maintaining their wholesale pricing, which gave the company its competitive edge. By expanding the company's business-to-business wholesale pricing policy to include retail customers, Sam Moon Trading Co. started its ascension to become the premier women's accessories and handbag superstore.

The overwhelming demand for merchandise at the company's competitive price point led to a second Sam Moon store launched in 2003 in Frisco, Texas. This was an immediate success, drawing the same volume of customers and demand as the flagship store. The continual success allowed Sam Moon Group to expand the number of stores.

In 2006, Sam Moon Group saw a growth opportunity and decided it was time to move outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex by opening their third Sam Moon store in The Woodlands, Texas. Sam Moon Trading Company's unique and immense assortment of women's accessories and handbags proved to be just as desirable to shoppers of North Houston. The Woodlands store immediately shared the same success story as Dallas and Frisco.
